2013: A Year in Review
2013 has been pretty intense and exciting…
♥ I decided to celebrate my birthday by chopping lots of my hair off..!
♥ I visited Sweden for the fourth time, and got to visit the Isle of Wight too. Both were absolutely lovely holidays, spent with some of my favourite people!
♥ I met Dave at Rochester Sweeps Festival, and we started dating. Eee!
♥ After a week of training, I handed in my notice at the landscaping company and began work as a carer for people with spinal cord injuries. It’s been the biggest change this year – I’m a live-in carer, so I don’t spend much time at home…
♥ Which is why I moved out of the house with Laurence and Malin. I’m sad not to be there and I’m sad that I don’t get to see them very much anymore, but it’s definitely been a positive change!
♥ I saw some amazing bands: Ric Sanders Group; Little Johnny England; Rory McLeod; Edward II; Alice Cooper; Moulettes; The Levellers; 10cc; Mediæval Bæbes; Peatbog Faeries; Nik Kershaw; Fairport Convention and of course, Dave’s band, Shamus O’Blivion and the Megadeath Morris Men!
♥ Due to both my new job and Dave’s band, I’ve been seeing quite a lot of the UK! I’ve travelled around the midlands a lot, as well as going to: Devon, Wales, Bristol, Bath, Gloucester, Sussex, Tamworth, Liverpool, Hampshire…
♥ I got to be Father Christmas in a mummers’ play again – it’s been a while since I’ve done it!
♥ Dave and I booked our flights to Delhi, and are making big plans to travel around India and Nepal, as well as hopefully a few other places..!
More than all of the above, I feel like I have grown more in 2013 than any other year so far. My new job has forced me to become braver, more confident and more trusting of my own decisions, and on the whole, a better person than I feel I was a year ago. I honestly can’t believe how much myself and my life has changed!
I’m fond of reading people’s years in review, so I’ve decided to share a couple of my favourites with you! Please comment if you have a post that you would like to share with me too.
