As promised yesterday, here is my photo an hour post from March! It was a beautiful, sunny day spent being extremely indulgent… Jack’s folks came to visit us in the afternoon, and then later in the evening his sister Suki joined us too. The five of us went out for a delicious meal in the evening, after having spent a few hours sampling wine and cocktails beforehand! Here come the photos…
On Saturday morning I woke up to my alarm, and remembering I’d decided to take my photo an hour for January on this day (mainly because there were only four days left of January and two of them I would not be able to take a photo an hour in) I let myself hit snooze once, and then rolled out of bed to be greeted by the kitties…
I’m currently sitting at my desk getting distracted by the world outside – today is one of those grey days that starts to improve when the sun begins to fade and the fairy lights start twinkling in trees and windows. I struggle to feel cheerful in the winter sometimes, but it’s always best to focus on the happy things – excited children skipping down the road, hearing a squeaky cat yawn (as B has made his bed behind my desk, there’s plenty of those today), watching beautiful videos, fresh coffee in a winter Moomin mug, wrapping gifts for the people I love, listening to (deliciously cheerful and danceable!) new music and of course, those tiny lights that wink in the darkness.
As the end of the year looms closer and closer, I feel like I’m in a mad rush to tidy 2016 up and wrap it with a bow… But despite my best efforts, I reckon I’ll be playing catch-up for a while – nearly halfway into December I’m posting my photo an hour from November (!) and I’m not entirely sure which day this month I will shoot my photo an hour post for December itself! Oh well…
Today is the day that I get to say – “it’s less than two weeks until Christmas!” – I feel like I can start to get really excited, now. This past week I’ve enjoyed getting our fairy lights out of storage, and digging about in various boxes to find decorations and such. Not to mention wrapping presents and writing cards. Anyway, shall we let the photos speak for themselves? Do let’s!
Things are finally starting to wind down for me – I have one shift and one reflection day this week, I’m back at university next week, and then it’s Christmas! I will of course be spending a lot of time revising for a big exam and starting an essay, but it will be the beginning of Christmas, none-the-less!
Good evening chums! I’m feeling pretty happy today – I’m doing my November photo an hour post (oops, left it until the penultimate day of the month!) and have had a pretty productive day thus far. I actually have dinner in the oven already (a slow cook casserole which I have big hopes and dreams for…) which is not a usual occurrence for me!
Anyway, here are the weeks photos from last week – the 19th to the 25th. Enjoy!
