I mention that dreaded word on this blog quite often – the past few years essays have plagued me more than they ever used to. You may or may not be aware that I received my¬†BA in English & Linguistics years ago before I started my degree in midwifery; back then I actively enjoyed writing essays! Becoming a Student Midwife

 

Sharing your dreams with the ones you love can be invigorating. It can also quash them in seconds, and make you question how you ever believed in yourself. Fortunately for me, the amount of people in my life who have been unwavering in their support for me in my quest to apply to become a student midwife has been overwhelming. I’m amazingly grateful¬†to all of my parents (I’m greedy and have two sets!) for their help drafting e-mails, writing personal statements, revising maths techniques, practicing for interviews, giving me lifts to and from my new university, and generally being amazingly supportive and reassuring that this is where my life should be heading. Not to mention the wonderful folks who gave me glowing references (thank you!) and Jack for listening to my non-stop spiel about a whole bunch of things most men would rather not be listening to (you’re the best!).
