Things I Love Thursday #16
Things I Love Thursday is an idea created by the inimitable Gala Darling. In 2007 she began creating a list every Thursday, sharing links, people and experiences that she had fallen in love with that week. All over the internet people the idea was passed around: everyone loved the concept of celebrating appreciation and thankfulness together and began creating their own lists… This is mine!
♥ Ben Folds Five! I went to see them at the 02 Academy in Brixton and they were amazing! They’re one of my favourite bands, so when they announced that they were reforming for a new album, complete with a tour, I knew that I had to go. They played the perfect mixture of old and new (Draw A Crowd! Army! Emaline! Jackson Cannery! Battle Of Who Could Care Less! Erase Me! Uncle Walter! Brick! Song For The Dumped! Underground!) and even performed Rock This Bitch. Swoon! I can’t even begin to describe how wonderful it was to see them – I discovered them after they’d split, so I thought I’d never get to see them… I’m so pleased they’ve done a reform tour and I was able to see them live!
♥ Meeting up with Sean and Iain to go and see Ben Folds Five: the last time I saw them was in 2007… It was great to see them both (especially whilst wiggling and singing along!).
♥ A rather kind man, who swapped a ticket with me so I could be with Sean and Iain during the gig (somehow I managed to book on a different floor to them, oops!). Hurray for kind people!
♥ Gorgeous Christmas goodies from Malin’s ma. Earlier in the week she sent us a huge parcel full of tiny Christmas goats, pretty table cloths, candle-holders, tree decorations, schnapps glasses and numerous other lovely bits. Yay!
♥ This amazing video by Crababble, Boekbinder & Batt. It’s called “I Have Your Heart” and I think all of the work is amazing (music, art and animation!). Watch and enjoy!
♥ On Saturday morning I came into work to discover that one of my colleagues had bought me an advent calendar! It cheers all of mornings now by offering up chocolate and a silly Christmas joke. Yay!
♥ Dare I say this… Yes – pretty snow! It’s been havoc for driving to work, but it is extremely beautiful and I do love it.
Do you write a Things I Love Thursday or gratitude list? If not, what would you write on it this week? If so, please share it with me!
