I wrote about my 4 Simple Goals to be achieved by 2014 in this post and an update on those goals in this post. Today? I have officially achieved all of my goals. Yeehaw!
The four goals that I set myself were:
- Make a Herman the German Friendship Cake.
- Clear out my wardrobe.
- Read more (at least 4 books before New Year).
- Stay as up-to-date as possible with Flickr uploads and photo editing.
As previously mentioned in this post, I’d already achieved number 2 on the list, and also donated all the clothes, as well as clearing out a bunch of DVDs and books too! As for goal number 3, I also mentioned in the same blog post that I’d read 3 out of the 4 books that I wanted to read (Winnie-the-Pooh by A.A.Milne, The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared by Jonas Jonasson and The Hundred and Ninety-Nine Steps by Michel Faber) – I can now add A Room of One’s Own by Virginia Woolf to that list! I’m particularly pleased about this because I have been meaning to read it for absolutely ages!
Number 1 was the goal I was most worried about – due to the nature of my work, it’s hard to complete projects and make plans… However, I successfully created my own Herman starter and transported him from Essex to Nottingham (!) without any accidents. Dave and I divided, delivered, mixed and baked him on the 26th of November, but unfortunately he was taking his sweet time to bake and I had to leave for my work shift before he was ready to come out of the oven! Dave froze half of Herman so that I would be able to have a taste another time, but due to some more rushing around (this time for Lisa’s hen party!) I managed to snap a photo, but didn’t end up having a taste… Doh!
I’ve been told that Herman was delicious, though, and bits of him are still travelling around Nottingham, so I’m happy with that goal being a job-done!
Last, but not least, number 4 – I had a couple of slip-ups with getting a bit late with uploads due to work shifts, but as the goal itself was “keep as up-to-date as possible“, I’m pretty content!
As a reward, I splashed out and bought myself a Jo Totes bag from Camera Couture! I’ve been entering countless competitions to win a Jo Totes bag for over a year, and decided that I should just make the decision to treat myself. The bag I chose is the Gracie in Teal, and I adore it!
Now, I just need to start writing out my list of Resolutions for 2014..!
